Behavior Analysis Example - SurveyGold Behavior Analysis Edition
The SurveyGold Standard Edition application with an active Behavior Analysis Edition subscription provides the ability to produce behavior correlation analysis. This is analysis that most clinicians would be unable to do otherwise because of the tedium involved. Here is brief explanation of how SurveyGold enables and accelerates effective behavior analysis by a clinician.
Setting the Stage for Behavior Observation Analysis
When a formal behavior intervention plan is implemented for an individual:
- Specific behavior goals are defined by the individual with the assistance of a clinician
- To support the achievement of these goals, the clinician uses the SurveyGold application to create and deploy a survey that allows observers (e.g., parent, caregiver, teacher, other observer) to record behavior observation feedback for each goal for the individual on a daily or scheduled periodic basis by answering Likert scale observation questions via an Internet-enabled device with a web browser
- SurveyGold collects the observation data in real-time and the clinician uses the application to produce one of several analysis reports
Producing the Behavior Correlation Analysis Report
This report provides the ability for a clinician to view and analyze all behavior observations over a time specified time period in comparison to an individual's behavior goals.
Each behavior observation question is displayed in a row that includes the following properties:
Each set of observation questions submitted on a given date/time (i.e., Sequence) is displayed in a column that includes the following properties:
The reports also includes a Behavior Correlation Analysis Chart that summarizes all properties and the intersection of each Correlation Coefficient by Question ID. This makes it easy to identify correlated behavior goals.
The following sample report contains:
Each behavior observation question is displayed in a row that includes the following properties:
- Question - a behavior goal statement (or a demographic property) that has a set of pre-defined responses
(e.g., Likert scale: 1-Strongly Disagree / 2-Disagree / 3-Neither / 4-Agree / 5-Strongly Agree; 1-Yes / 2-No; etc.) - Question ID - an integer value that uniquely identifies a Question
- Sequence - an ascending integer array representing the day/time that each unique observation response was provided
- Response - an integer array representing the response to the question using the Likert scale point value as a basis
- Goal - a behind-the-scenes integer constant that represents the minimum Response value that achieves the behavior goal
(e.g., a Response of 4 on a 5 point Likert scale could be defined by the clinician as success) - Count - the total number of Responses
- Average - the mean of all Responses
- Standard Deviation - the standard deviation of all Responses
- Correlation Coefficient - the relationship between the Response and Sequence arrays to represent the behavior goal achieved over time
Each set of observation questions submitted on a given date/time (i.e., Sequence) is displayed in a column that includes the following properties:
- Number of Responses - the total number of Responses for that Sequence
- Daily Average - the mean of all Responses for that Sequence
- Percentage of Success - the total number of Responses greater than or equal to the Goal
The reports also includes a Behavior Correlation Analysis Chart that summarizes all properties and the intersection of each Correlation Coefficient by Question ID. This makes it easy to identify correlated behavior goals.
The following sample report contains:
- Five behavior goals depicted as five Questions, each with its own Question ID
- 19 Observations for each Question, each recorded on specific dates and time (July 19, 2011 9:50PM through August 4, 2011 8:00AM)
- Observations based upon a Likert scale: Strong Disagree = 1 Disagree = 2 Neither = 3 Agree = 4
- Behavior correlation analysis chart
